Book: The Complete Guide to Companion Planting: Everything You Need to Know to Make Your Garden and Ornamental Plants Thrive
I am reading The Complete Guide to Companion Planting: Everything You Need to Know to Make Your Garden and Ornamental Plants Thrive by Dale Mayer and it has a good amount of information on why to companion plant, and how. It points out that rotating your beds may be a good idea, and that companion planting can be thought of not just as planting cooperative plants at the same time, but also in succession of each other. They point out a four-bed method of rotation would be a good idea, but we are planning for only two beds at the moment, with four in the future. I'll have to think of ways of 'rotating' within the same bed.
The book also mentions having one group of plants that require more of a nutrient together would simplify fertilizing, and ensuring each plant got what they needed. Will have to consider the nutrient demands of each plant as I plan.
